Oriental 4x4

I'd still rather have sushi! Be that as it may, here is another piece I completed for a swap at Outlaw Women's Scrapbook Emporium's Yahoo group.

The theme was "Oriental". It doesn't show in the scan, but I hand-painted with shimmery watercolors over the kimonos, the building, and the flowers in the background. Also the two figures as well as the writing are mounted on foam so they are raised from the background. It gives the piece a neat dimensional effect.

And, since I can't leave the back unadorned, I made another Shoji screen, which opens to reveal my personal information. After I made the first one (for the Geisha swap) I vowed "never again"! But they're so darn cute, so I suffered through making another one. Sigh.

Thank you for looking, and I would love to hear your comments!
